In-House Photographer

Job Description

We are hiring a part- to full-time Photographer to join our team at Manticore Marketing here in Pocatello.

This is not a studio-only role. This is a hands-on, outdoor, fast-moving position that plays a critical role in how local businesses — especially dealerships — present their inventory and brand online.

If you enjoy being active, working independently, and producing consistent, high-quality images at scale, this could be a strong fit.

Position Overview

Approximately 70%–90% of your weekly time will be dedicated to servicing the local dealerships we work with.

This includes:

• Traveling from one dealership to another
• Photographing dealership vehicles according to our established process and shot list
• Maintaining consistency in angles, lighting, framing, and workflow
• Returning to the office to edit photos efficiently
• Uploading final images to dealership websites according to required specifications

This portion of the role is highly structured. We have a system. You will follow it.

The remaining 10%–30% of your weekly time will involve:

• Client promotional shoots
• Team photos
• On-location business photography
• Other photography-related marketing projects

Work Environment & Expectations

This is primarily an outdoor position.

Pocatello’s weather is unpredictable — hot summers, cold winters, wind, snow, rain.

You must be willing and able to:

• Work in extreme cold and extreme heat
• Continue working in light rain or snow when equipment and vehicle quality are not affected
• Maintain productivity despite weather discomfort

If weather conditions become unsafe or extreme, you may receive supervisor approval to pause and resume once conditions improve. Otherwise, we expect consistency and reliability.

This role is active and physical. You will be on your feet for much of the day.

Must-Have Qualifications (Non-Negotiables)

• Valid driver’s license
  Clean driving record with no accidents
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
• Knowledge of DSLR or mirrorless camera basics (shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, etc.)
• Must own a smartphone with cellular data
• Reliable transportation to and from client sites and our office
• Physically capable of:
  • Walking up to 5 miles per day
  • Bending and squatting repeatedly
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in extreme cold and hot weather conditions
• Must be available for work on weekdays 9:00am–2:00pm at a minimum

Compensation

Pay ranges from $14–$25 per hour, depending on:

• Schedule availability (part-time vs full-time)
• Photography experience
• Efficiency and quality of output

Performance bonuses and commission opportunities are also available.
